Dedicated IPs are an add-on that you can purchase with your server for an additional cost. Connect A Domain With Google Domains Print
In this article, we will explain how to assign a domain purchased through Google Domains to your GGServers Minecraft server. The example domain we will use will be mc.example.com.
Go to
If you have not already done so, this is where you will purchase your domain from Google Domains. If you have already purchased your domain, you may proceed to Step 2. If you do not already own a domain through Google Domains, you will need to purchase one, then continue with this article. Below is an image of the Google Domains main page.
Step 2:
Log in with your account, then click on My domains and select the domain you wish to attach to your server. The name of the domain will not affect your server.
Step 3:
After selecting the domain you wish to use, click on the Configure DNS symbol, then scroll to the bottom of the page to the Custom resource records.
Step 4:
Adding the Main Record:
Go to Custom Resource Records at bottom of Page. The first custom record you are going to create will be your hostname. To do this, choose type A, set your TTL , and then enter your servers IP address for the Data field. You may name this custom resource whatever you would like. For our example we will us mc.
At this point, you will be able to access your server with mc.example.com if you have an active IP Without Port addon. Should you not have the addon, you will need to proceed with the following step.

Once you have found the DNS for the domain you want to use, these steps will walk you through the record creating process. These steps assume you are already at the Custom resource records section of the DNS settings.

Determine Data Of The Minecraft Server
The first thing you need to do is find out the information of your Minecraft server. You will need the IP address and the shared port. If you host your Minecraft server via IONOS, you can find the corresponding data in the customer account under Server & Cloud. There you select your server contract and then get a list with all servers that have been set under this instance. Here you can also see the IP address of the Minecraft server. In turn, you can find the shared port by going to Network > Firewall Policies in the navigation list. Make a note of both pieces of information.

Pointing A Domain To A Split Server
Split servers don’t have a 25565 port and if you want to join to them directly you will need to use something similar to this: survival.example.com:25566. We can get around this by using a DNS SRV record that points to the split server port.
For the following steps we assume you already have created an A record pointing to your server IP. If you haven’t done so, please follow the steps above to create another A record before you create the SRV Record.
To create a DNS SRV record you will head to your registrar or Cloudflare DNS configuration page.
- Once you are there, you will click on add a new DNS record and you will select SRV.
- Then you will proceed to create an identical record to the one above.
- You will need to replace the Port field with the port that your split server uses
- Remember to replace the Target field with the subdomain or domain that it’s pointing to your server IP.
- The priority and Weight ports can be leaved at 0. TTL needs to be in Auto.
That’s all! Now you should be able to connect to your split server using survival.example.com, you no longer need to use the port.

Is There A Way To Have A Domain Name Point To A Minecraft Server And Website
I have a website for my Minecraft server. I need to set the same domain name up for both. So, if I went to my browser and typed www.ChaoticMC.com it would take me to my Website and if I was in Minecraft and I typed in chaoticmc.com it would take me to my server. I have already done the Minecraft server part but I cant figure out how to do the Website part too. I hope I posted this question in the correct place if not, I am sorry.

What you want to do is possible, but not necessarily a good idea. Using an SRV record, you can have a web server and Minecraft server on the same address. Some computer configurations will not see SRV records, and players with those configurations will not be able to connect to your server. If this doesnt concern you, then you can carry on, otherwise just use separate domains. Its less hassle.
Minecraft supports SRV records, but browsers dont, so youll need to replace your existing DNS record with one for your web server.
First, create a separate A or AAAA record that points to your Minecraft server. It doesnt matter what you name it, as long as its different from your web server. Lets say its play.chaoticmc.com.
Create A Connection To The Server
The first step is to establish a remote connection to your server. If you have not yet set up access, you can do this directly via the IONOS Cloud Panel. To do this, first log in to the with your login data.
Select Server & Cloud from the menu and click the server you want to install and host Minecraft on from the listing. Scroll down and press the download link next to the Remote Desktop Connection entry:
Either select Open with directly or open the file by double-clicking it after the download. In the following dialog window, click on Connect and select Use other account under More options. Now you can enter the login data to your server if you have not yet assigned a password, you will find the start password in the Initial password line.
When you connect to the server for the first time, you will see a warning about the security credentials. To continue, simply click Yes here. This will establish the remote connection to the server.
You can terminate the remote connection to your Minecraft server at IONOS at any time by clicking on the X in the connection bar presented at the top of the screen!
