Now that youve got a domain name, youre going to route emails from your professional address to your Gmail address, so that you can continue to use the Gmail interface.
Below are the instructions for several different web hosts.
If your host isnt listed: Look at the HostGator instructionschances are you have the same cPanel admin interface.
If that doesnt work: Your provider might not include email forwarding. You can transfer it to Bluehost for a web hosting package that includes email forwarding. Just click Get Started on this link, and on the 3rd step or so put in your existing domain name rather than searching for a new one. Theyll guide you through the rest.
How To Use A Custom Domain Name For Email
For the sake of this article, well use GoDaddy as an example. Just follow the steps below to attach a domain name to your email.
Log in to your GoDaddy account.
Navigate to Professional Email.
Fill out your email information.
Complete setup.
For the small monthly fee involved, Professional Email is a no-brainer for me to build trust and make sure emails are recognizable when landing in contacts inboxes. I use Microsoft 365 for my main eCommerce site.
Add Or Edit Custom Dns Records
Follow the steps below to add a custom record for a website or 3rd party service.
Sign in to the Microsoft admin center at .
Go to the Settings> Domains page.
On the Domains page, select a domain.
Under DNS settings, select Custom Records then select New custom record.
Select the type of DNS record you want to add and type the information for the new record.
Select Save.

Configure Mx Records For Email Delivery
If your domain’s DNS Manager is hosted with Go Daddy, follow the below steps to add MX records for your Domain for email delivery.
The MX values given above are based on the generic configuration information. For a more specific configuration particular for your domain refer to this section in the Admin Control Panel.
You have successfully added MX records for your GoDaddy hosted domain. You can check the MX records with Zoho’s DNS MX Lookup tool.
Set Up Your Godaddy Email Account
Continuing on, the next page will prompt you to add your GoDaddy domain name to begin creating your email aliases. You must have a paid plan with GoDaddy and purchase your domain through the company to use this. If you need to move an existing domain to GoDaddy and wish to add it to your GoDaddy email account, that process may take some extra time and might require a call to GoDaddys friendly support team.
After you create your first email alias for your account, youll then need to create your username and password, set up administrator properties, and add a backup email to which GoDaddy should send your account information . GoDaddy will then send you a confirmation email to verify your account. After you receive that confirmation email, you can start syncing and setting up your GoDaddy professional email with Microsoft 365 on as many devices as you and your small business need.

Create Spf Dkim And Dmarc Records
For security reasons, we recommend adding SPF and DKIM records. Setting up DMARC is an optional, advanced feature.
SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are set up similarly to TXT records.
1. Access the DNS page and select Add in the Records section.
2. To create the SPF record, enter these values:

4. To create the DMARC record, repeat the steps, as shown below.

No. We strongly recommend against setting your personalized email address as your primary alias for signing in. Doing this can create problems with signing in or even sending and receiving email.
You can still set your personalized email address as your default “From” address:
Go to your Outlook.com Email alias settings.

As I already explained, Microsoft 365 subscription also offers a free personalized email address. If you are a company and not a private user, Godaddy email hosting Business Premium plan becomes much more convenient as Microsoft 365 for business is more expensive than the one for private users and families.
To summarize:
- If you also want to purchase a website or hosting service, you should always also get your email hosting on GoDaddy as you will get a good discount.
- If you are a private user interest in purchasing a personalized email address and a Microsoft 365 subscription but not a website, then it is more convenient to directly purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription for $6.99pm
Setting Up With Cloudflare Cdn
Most of the sites on the web use CDN to improve the speed of content delivery along with firewalls. Cloudflare, Slackpath and many other CDN services ask you to change the nameservers to get fully protected. In such case, your emails will stop working if you have MX and CNMAE records on GoDaddy or on your hosts DNS file.
Simply maintain MX and CNAME records in Cloudflare or your CDNs DNS file. This will help to disable the email network on Cloudflare and all emails work through GoDaddy email servers.
If you have separate host as explained above, remember to enter the value as GoDaddy email server and not your hosting server.

Connect My Godaddy Site To A Domain
