What Is My Shopify Domain
A domain is the website address, also called a URL, where people can find your store on the internet.
When you first create a Shopify account youâre asked to choose a store name. This store name is used to dynamically create your Shopify domain in the format https://yourstorename.myshopify.com. This domain is initially set as your primary domain.
This domain is used for logging into your Shopify admin dashboard. It can also be used as your customer facing URL but we strongly advise against it. Instead, we recommend you buy and use your own branded custom domain name to build credibility and trust. Customers want to do business with your brand not with Shopify.

Get Your Redirects Ready
After you get your store built, its time to build your redirects.
There are two major reasons to build a list of redirects when transferring your store to Shopify:
Luckily, Shopify has an easy way to add redirects to your new store. All the redirects will go live when you launch your new store.
You can add redirects within Shopify by going to Online Store > Navigation > URL Redirects. Theres also an option to import them as a batch.
Youll want to create a redirect for every URL that has a different location in Shopify. For example, products in Shopify have a URL like this: company.com/products/product-name
If your old product URLs use a different URL structure, youll want to create a redirect for each product. Same for any other pages that have a different location in Shopify.
Check the URL path of every page and product that you create in your new Shopify store. If theyre the same as your old store, theres nothing you need to do. If they have a new URL path, create a redirect for them.
What To Ask When Contacting A Potential Wholesale Supplier
Before you pick up the phone, ensure you have the necessary business license and tax documents on hand.
You wont be able to place an order at some companiesor even get their attentionwithout this information. The rules vary from state to state. Wholesalers often have a special product license, meaning they legally cannot do business with consumers, only other businesses.
When you do call, here are key questions to ask:
Ask clear, direct questions that will help you find answers to your most important questions.
Im thinking of maybe starting a dropshipping business sometime soon is the type of vague email that a busy wholesaler might just ignore. But straightforward questions that show you mean businesssuch as, Whats your best price for 250 units per month?are more likely to get a reply.
When in the sourcing research phase, I send multiples of the exact same message and compare response time, the substance of reply, knowledge of the industry, costs, turnaround estimates, and overall energy of any follow-up calls., Founder of Best PeriodT
And rememberoftentimes, you can negotiate with wholesale suppliers. Dont be afraid to push back if the numbers theyre quoting wont work for your margins.

Is Bluehost Better Than Shopify For Ecommerce
It depends on your needs. Shopify is a great way to get online quickly because most of the tools youll need to build an ecommerce store are already integrated. However, its significantly more expensive than Bluehost, and it limits your choice of CMS. With Bluehost, you can use WooCommerce, Joomla, Magento, PrestaShop, or any other CMS you like. You have to put in more work to optimize your website, but you get full creative freedom over your store.

Import Your Wix Web Store Data Into Your New Shopify Site
Since your Shopify site is for making sales, the proper transfer of content from your Wix store to Shopify is essential. One way is to manually upload your products, their content, specifications, cost and SEO parameters through the sidebar. This method is practical if you have a small assortment of products.
For a larger number of products export your web store data into a CSV file from the control panel of your Wix web page and import this data into your corresponding Shopify site. Use the same procedure to import customer lists and other website content. This method turns out to be a bit complicated and time consuming.

Visit Settings > Domains.
Click Connect Existing Domain. If you dont see this option, click Actions first, then select the Connect Existing Domain option.
