How To Connect Your Godaddy Domain To Your Website

If youre looking to connect your GoDaddy domain to your website you will need two things: a domain, and a hosting account. The hosting account is where your website will live. GoDaddy is where you might buy your domain and youll need to point that to your server.
If you dont have a host yet? For a small to medium website, Id suggest BlueHost. For more complex web apps Id suggest you look into something like Heroku, Digital Ocean or AWS. If you get stuck at any point Id suggest you just email your hosting company, as they should be able to help with your specific website.
Before You Get Started
- To connect your domain, you will need to update your DNS records. Ensure you have the login details for your DNS provider and have access to the CNAME records.
- Special characters are accepted in your domain.
- Review the structure of URLs:
- If you’re moving a live website to HubSpot, review the domain verification process if you want to pre-provision SSL for the domain.
- If you’re keeping part of your website outside of HubSpot, do not connect that subdomain to HubSpot. For example, if your main website is hosted on WordPress at info.mywebsite.com, you should not connect your info subdomain to HubSpot. Doing so will take down your external content.
- HubSpot does not provide SSL certificates for domains that exceed 64 characters. This limit includes the subdomain, domain, and top-level domain. If your domain needs to be longer than 64 characters, you can turn on SSL by purchasing a custom SSL certificate. To set this up, contact your customer success manager.
- If you have a CMS Hubsubscription, you can redirect your root/apex domain in HubSpot. To do this, connect the root domain as a redirect domain. Otherwise, you’ll need to set up the redirect within your DNS provider

Identify Your Domain Registrar

Follow these steps to find who your domain registrar is and what your account sign-in name and password are:
Sign in using an account with super administrator privileges .
A window opens and shows your partner host and domain registration information.
Tip: If you dont see your domain registrar listed, you didnt buy your domain when you signed up for Google Workspace. For help with connecting to your website, contact the company that you purchased your domain from.
Connect Godaddy Domain With Site123 Website
Follow the steps to connect your Godaddy domain with your SITE123 website:
Log in to your Godaddy account. Go to the domain you want to connect, click the three dots icon and select Manage DNS.
In the DNS Management panel, go to A record and click the pencil icon to edit.
Enter the following settings:
Host: @
Points to: 54.76.177.85
Back in the DNS Management panel, go to CNAME record and click the pencil icon to edit.
Enter the following settings:
Host: www
Points to: ssl2.site123.com
If you want to use email accounts created with SITE123, click the ADD button and add MX records.
Enter the following settings:

Points to: mailme-backup.enter-system.com

Priority: 20
Note: completing these steps will connect your domain with your SITE123 website and allow you to use SITE123 email accounts, however, the domain DNS management will remain with Godaddy.

Create Dns Records With Common Providers
Here are some resources for creating DNS records with popular domain providers. If your service isn’t listed here, go to your provider’s site and search their help documents, or contact their customer support team for assistance with creating or updating your records.
If domain connection fails, here are a few things to check.

Was the domain or subdomain entered correctly?
In your domain provider account, make sure your subdomain is entered correctly. Depending on your domain provider, you may not be required to enter the entire subdomain. For example, instead of springsale.pottedplanter.com, you may only need to enter springsale in the subdomain field.

Do the CNAME or A records match?
Verify that the CNAME records and/or the A Name records provided by Mailchimp match the records in your domain provider account.

Is the domain expired?

Connect Existing Godaddy Domain To Shopify
1. What you need to do first is to access the Shopify Admin. Login to your Shopify account at http://www.shopify.com.
2. Click the Online Store sales channel on the left side to view the other sections then, click Domains.
3. Since we are connecting an existing GoDaddy domain, we need to click the Connect Existing Domain button.
4. It will then ask you to enter the domain name that you have previously acquired. Click Next after you have entered the domain name.
5. Shopify will automatically detect the internet domain registrar that you have used. Since we will do this Automatically, click the Connect Automatically button.
6. You will be asked to sign in to your GoDaddy account. Just sign in using the login details on where you purchased the domain name.
7. Then, GoDaddy informs you that they will be disconnecting the domain from their DNS records and change it to Shopifyâs DNS records. Just click the blue Connect button to proceed with the changes.
8. It will then give you a Success confirmation informing you that the website is already a Shopify domain. Just click the Close button to go back to Shopify.
Shopify is going to verify the connection of your GoDaddy domain. You will then receive a green callout saying that your domain is now connected with Shopify.
9. What you need to do next is to make sure that your customer will visit your domain and not the Shopify branded domain. Click the Change Primary Domain link and select your domain name, then click Save.
