Prepare Your Domain For Transfer Within Godaddy
Congrats, purchase of the transfer is done. Its time to prepare domain for transfer within a Godaddy account. You need to:
Note 1: If you updated registrant contact records in last 60 days, your domain name will have 60-day transfer lock. According to the ICANN policy 60-day period is a security measure that helps to prevent domain names from being hijacked or stolen and transferred to another registrar.
Godaddy has a special process to remove this lock. Contact their Review60 Team and ask for the registrant contact revert to the party that was listed prior to the changes.

How To Transfer A Domain From Godaddy
When a domain is transferred, the nameservers associated with the domain will stay the same . However, since the domain is no longer with the old registrar, the old registrars nameservers will stop responding to queries for your domain. This will cause downtime until you switch your domain to our DNS.
Learn how to reduce downtime during transfers in this article.
NOTE: If you are using a third-party DNS such as your hosting company, the domain transfer will not cause any downtime issues, because DNS server settings will not change during the transfer.
Before placing a transfer request with us, you’ll need to obtain an Auth Code from GoDaddy and you will need to make sure that the domain is unlocked.
If you already have your code, log into your account, and click the banner below. If you havent, continue on to step 1 to find out how to unlock your domain.

Best Hosting Provider In My Opinion
I have used several hosting providers in the past, and from all of them, I prefer HostPapa. HostPapa is a relatively unknown hosting provider, but it provides excellent hosting services.
While there are certainly cheaper hosting services, HostPapa isnt expensive. HostPapa comes with a free SSL certificate and a free domain for a year. It also has an excellent server performance and has a five-star rating on Trustpilot. When compared to other services I have used, such as HostGator and GoDaddy, HostPapa comes out on top.
HostGator is particularly bad, with subpar server performance and a one-star rating on Trustpilot. GoDaddy is still okay but lacks certain perks such as a free SSL certificate out of the box. It also has a two-star rating on Trustpilot.

Transferring your Domain Name from Namecheap to Go Daddy
We recently had 2 domains sitting by themselves in a NameCheap.com account. While we are all for diversification, we felt we were losing money whenever it was time to renew. We have many domains at GoDaddy.com, so whenever we renew of a set, and we use coupon codes to get a discount .
So, today, we decided it was time to transfer our two lone domains from NameCheap to GoDaddy. GoDaddy charges about $8 per domain, but gives you 1 extra year of registration on top of what you have left. When you add the discount, it comes out to very cheap.
It must be said that weve never had a problem with namecheap for the 3+ years we had our domains there. Plus weve always liked the fact that they dont try to up-sell you a bunch of stuff like GoDaddy does every time you renew. However, we decided to transfer out because its easier to manage all our domains from one place.
