The Wix Domain Registration Process Step By Step
First, log in to your Wix account.
Go to the domains page.
Type in the name of your domain. On the bottom left of the page, click DNS next to where it says Connection Method and select Pointing.
Select the site you want to connect your .CA domain to and then click Next.
Now, youll have to update your domains DNS or name server settings so they connect to your Wix website.
Log in to your domain registrar account and go to your DNS or name server settings.
Replace your current name servers with the following:
Note: If youre not comfortable with making the DNS changes manually, contact your domain registrars support department, tell them you wish to use your domain with a Wix site and request that they point your domains name servers to the DNS addresses listed above.
Once youve updated your DNS or name server settings, head back over to your Wix account, go to the Domains page and click Verify Connection. This step is optional, but it checks that youve made the correct updates to your domains name servers.
In some cases, it may take up to 48 hours for your domain to appear linked to your Wix website. If all else fails, Wix offers a comprehensive support article on mapping your custom domain.

Getting Started With Wix
To get started with Wix you need to first sign up to their service. On the homepage, select Start Now and then either create a new account with Wix or sign in using Google or Facebook.
Wix will now ask you what type of website you would like to create. Here we have selected Blog.
Next you need to choose whether to let Wix use its Artificial Intelligence tool to design your site or to build your website yourself using the Wix Editor. The two processes are quite different.
Using the Wix Editor gives you access to all of Wixs templates, and editing tools and features. You can also use numerous apps that are available for adding functionality to your website. This gives you full control of customization on your site, and lets you create a website to your exact specifications.
If you create your site with ADI, you will edit your site using the ADI editor. This gives you far less editing features and options and is quite restrictive as far as the design process is concerned. However, there is no doubt that using ADI is a quicker and easier way to create a website. And it is also possible to switch your site from the ADI Editor into the Wix Editor at any time. So lets have a closer look at both of these processes
Connecting A Domain Name To Wix
If you would prefer to keep your domain name with your current host , you can still connect it to your Wix site. For that, a couple of changes in the domain name parameters are required. Check this Wix tutorial for more information.
There are two options: connecting the domain name via name servers or pointing your domain name to a Wix site:

Usually, its option 1. Especially if you are not using any email inbox with your domain name yet, its better to connect your name servers with Wix .
If you are already using an external email provider, pointing your domain name to Wix may be more convenient as your email accounts will just continue working without any further changes from your side. The only small disadvantage here: should Wix ever move your website to a new server, you may have to get your A-record updated. Not a biggie, but better if it all happens in the background without your involvement.
Keep in mind that your domain registrar will be able to assist you with these DNS changes.
Be aware that the connection process can take up to 48 hours, so dont panic if you dont see immediate results.

Allow Gmail To Receive Emails Using Pop3
Once you have your custom email account, youre going to use something called POP3 to connect Gmail to your custom email address. Essentially, these settings let your free Gmail account import emails from your email hosting .
To get started, you need to find your emails POP3 settings. At Bluehost, you can do this by clicking the Connect Devices tab when youre editing your email account. Heres what it looks like:
If your email hosting is elsewhere, youll want to consult your services documentation or reach out to their support if you cant find your POP3 information.
Then:
- Open the Gmail settings by clicking the gear icon in the top-right corner and selecting See all settings.
- Go to the Accounts and Import tab.
- Find the Check mail from other accounts setting.
- Click Add a mail account.

- Password the password that you set when creating your custom email address.
