If you are wanting to migrate a blog you can not switch your DNS records until our Showit blog team has finished migrating your blog. If you do switch your DNS records before your blog is migrated, our blog team will be unable to migrate your blog. Once the migration is complete, our team will message you and give you the necessary DNS records.

If you need to add or migrate a blog you can do so here:

    Request Blog Migration

If you’ve already applied the DNS settings and just need to have the SSL applied, you can message our support team and ask for that to be setup.

To get started you’ll want to login to your GoDaddy account where you purchased the domain. After you have logged in, select your name in the upper right and then select “My Products.”

This will bring you to the products page where you’ll see a list of all your domains. Select the domain you’d like to edit the DNS settings for.

Next, scroll down the Domain Settings Page to the bottom and choose manage DNS.

Then, you’ll see a list of all the DNS records for your domain. Set the DNS records to the following values:A record: * to: 75.101.134.27CNAME: www to: @

***Important*** Make sure there are no other A Records named or CNAME Records named www. If there are, delete those records so the new DNS settings will apply.

How To Point Domain From Godaddy To Bluehost

January 3, 2021 by Harsh Agrawal

In my earlier guide on Bluehost Addon domain, I mentioned about how easy it is to point a domain from any domain registrar to Bluehost by changing the Domain Nameserver. For many users who are not technical, find it hard to follow the instruction without a clear screenshot.

Therefore, Here Im sharing a quick guide on pointing domain from Godaddy domain panel to Bluehost. Let me out the situation in layman language:

    • You just bought a hosting from Bluehost
    • You have a couple of domains on Godaddy, and you want to point your domain to Bluehost and Host your site on Bluehost.

The process is very simple, and all we need to do it update the Name server of the domain on Godaddy to point to Bluehost.

Later use Bluehost addon domain service to add these domains to your Bluehost account. By the end, your domain will still be on Godaddy, but you can install Website on them using Bluehost hosting.

    Easier Godaddy Domain Connection

Now when you go to connect a domain registered with GoDaddy, you’ll be prompted to connect your domain with our brand new integration, which should make your life a bit easier:

If you’re not already signed in to GoDaddy, you’ll be prompted to do so. From there, it’s a click of a button:

Then you’re all set! You can still configure your GoDaddy domain manually as before if needed, but this should help you get back to designing faster than before.

Note: When you first buy a domain from GoDaddy, it usually takes a bit of time for the domain to be “ready for use,” so look out for an email from GoDaddy indicating your domain is ready before trying to connect it to your Webflow site. If you try to connect before it’s ready, the integration won’t work.

Now, Webflow automatically detects domains registered with GoDaddy, so connecting your GoDaddy registered domain to your Webflow site is easier than ever. No more CNAME configuration, no more A records to keep track of, no more headaches.

There Are Additional Dns Resolution Components

But wait a second how does the browser know which nameserver to query when looking up example.com? Good question.

First, technically speaking, the web browser doesnt typically do the lookup. It usually talks to something called a DNS Resolver which actually does the lookup. But this doesnt change the core question it just changes the wording. How does the resolver know which nameserver to query when looking up example.com?

Key to this is something called the root server. The root server for a top-level domain is established at a well-known location. Coming back to our example of example.com, a DNS query is first performed to the rootserver for .com to find the location of the nameserver for example.com. Once this is determined, the resolver can query the nameserver for example.com to find the data it needs.

The SSL security certificate may take some time to generate. We would recommend leaving 24 hours for this to complete but it should be a lot faster. How To Connect Your Godaddy Domain To Your Website

    May 13, 2017 1 min read

If youre looking to connect your GoDaddy domain to your website you will need two things: a domain, and a hosting account. The hosting account is where your website will live. GoDaddy is where you might buy your domain and youll need to point that to your server.

If you dont have a host yet? For a small to medium website, Id suggest BlueHost. For more complex web apps Id suggest you look into something like Heroku, Digital Ocean or AWS. If you get stuck at any point Id suggest you just email your hosting company, as they should be able to help with your specific website.
