Navigate to the Domains Transfer tool on the GoDaddy website

Enter the domain name you are transferring into your account in the text box

Enter the you received from the other party in the Get authorization code section and click Continue

Once you have completed the Domain Transfer Purchase, your domain will be available immediately in your GoDaddy account. To confirm that the domain transferred, follow these steps:

Click the Approved Transfer button to approve the transfer.

You will see a confirmation that the changes were accepted.

You will receive an email from HostGator once the transfer is complete. If you have not heard from HostGator after seven days, you may contact us via phone or Live Chat to inquire about your transfer status.

However, since the domain is no longer with the old registrar, the old registrars nameservers will stop responding to queries for your domain. This will cause downtime until you switch your domain to our DNS.
