Squarespace doesnt offer custom email addresses by default with their domains. What they do, like many other website builders, In this case, you get to use the basic Workspace plan, which includes Google Drive, Calendar, Docs and Hangouts, amongst others.
Its not an ideal solution, but there are advantages:
- You can manage your Google Workspace products directly from Squarespace
- You can connect Squarespace contact forms to your Google drive and address
- If you are eligible, you may get Workspace free for one year.
The cons include:
- Not able to connect any other email providers with Squarespace. Its Google Workspace or youll have to manage your emails through the third party provider solution.
- If you really want to keep your email offer from another provider, you can connect it to Google Workspace, but its not an easy task.
- Certain features might be unavailable. For instance, if you sign up to Google Workspace by yourself, you get Google Voice. When you go through Squarespace, their partnership doesnt cover that service.
Finally, when it comes to prices, its all the same whether you buy through Squarespace or Google directly, costing around $6 per month or $72 per year . And yes, thats per user which isnt exactly cheap.
Why Wont My Godaddy Domain Connect To Squarespace
If youre still having trouble connecting your domain to Squarespace after entering records manually, you may need to reset your domains nameservers. Change The Name On Squarespace
Once youve decided on your name, head over to your Squarespace dashboard and go to SETTINGS> > DOMAINS. Then you will choose to get a new domain or use a domain you already own.
At this point the choice is yours. If you are going with an extension other than a .com, it may not be free on Squarespace and is cheaper somewhere else.
However, at some point you will probably want to have it administered by Squarespace, and youll have to pay to the transfer of that accomplished. And youll have to go into some deeper settings to get that done, which makes some people nervous.
Since I like to keep things simple, Id go with Squarespace from the beginning and get your new domain from them.
If you decide to purchase the domain from Squarespace, follow the steps to check out and, Congratulations, you now have a new domain associated with your site!
If you have purchased the name somewhere else, you can either transfer it to Squarespace or have it pointed to Squarespace. If you have just bought it you will probably have to point it to Squarespace as there is a waiting period to do that after the purchase of a domain.

No Free Custom Email Accounts With Squarespace
When you communicate with clients, having an email account with your own domain instantly increases your level of professionalism. However, while many domain name registrars allow you to create multiple custom email accounts for free, with Squarespace the only way to have a custom email address is to sign up for G Suite.
Dont get me wrong: the suite of apps that Google offers through G Suite are great for creative professionals. But thats another $5 a month! This might not sound much, but why pay for something when you can get it for free?
Lets do the math again: over the span of ten years, youd be spending at least $780 more$60 + $5 x 12 x 10if you registered your domain through Squarespace.

Two: Link Your Domain
Note From Squarespace: If you see a message that says This domain is already connected to another Squarespace site, check any other Squarespace sites you manage to determine where the domain is connected. Then disconnect it from that site. For help logging into the correct site, visit Managing multiple sites.
Youll then select your domain provider from the drop-down list that Squarespace provides. If you dont see your domain provider from the list, select other. You will be able to connect your domain even if the provider is mentioned on the list.
Log Into Your Domain Account

In a new tab or window, log into your domain account, and find where you manage your DNS settings. Depending on your provider, this may be called Zone File Settings, Manage Domains, Domain Manager, DNS Manager, or something similar.
Here, youll create these records so your domain correctly links to your Squarespace site.
Note: Dont delete MX records during this process. MX Records connect your email address. Deleting them could interfere with your email service.

WHOIS is an Internet record that publicly lists information about domains including the contact information of the domain owner which can be crawled by spam marketers for email addresses. When a registrar offers WHOIS privacy, or domain privacy, it means that your contact information will not be publicly listed.
