Name Servers direct the traffic for your domain to the host server. If you’ve already moved the website to your Bluehost account, you’ll want to update your nameservers now to minimize downtime during the transfer otherwise, you’ll have to wait until the transfer is complete. You cannot make DNS changes while the transfer is in progress, so it is important that you do it now.

Request An Authorization Code
To transfer your domain, you’ll need an authorization code . This code is there to protect your domain from being transferred by an unauthorized party.
Additionally, this code serves as the bridge between your old registrar and your new provider and must be supplied within five days of your request, typically by email. Some registrars permit auto-generation of codes directly from their control panels.
Your Domain’s Current Host
There are a few more steps youll need to complete to transfer your domain, some of which must be done through your domain’s current host. After extending your domain name, follow the steps provided to:
