How to Set Up Email to Your GoDaddy Domain Name – 2020 | GoDaddy

The benefit of using a forwarder is that your mails will arrive almost instantly in your Outlook.com account instead, even when Outlook itself is closed.

However, this requires proper forwarding support by your current ISP but nowadays most ISPs provide support for this. If your ISP doesnt offer forwarding capabilities, dont worry, we can take care of that in Step 4.

  • Add your current address as an alias to your Microsoft Account.Before creating a forwarder, well first make sure that your current email address is added as an alias to your Microsoft Account. This will reduce the likelihood that all forwarded messages will be marked as spam.

If not, youll get prompted for your password. When you have Two-Step Verification enabled for your Outlook.com or Microsoft Account, then youll also be prompted for additional confirmation such as by entering a code obtained via an SMS text message or the Authenticator app.

    When you get the dialog shown above, fill out your name, email address and password. When you have Two-Step Verification enabled for your Outlook.com or Microsoft Account, then youll have to use a special App Password instead of your regular password.

    While the Tasks, Notes and Journal folders sync with other Outlook for Desktop installations, these folders do not sync to all other devices when using Exchange ActiveSync or the Outlook app. You can consider the following alternatives

    TasksTasks syncing via the EAS protocol is supported but many Mail apps, including the Outlook app for iOS and Android, do not sync this folder.     Activate Gmail For Your Google Workspace Account

    How to Set-Up a Custom Email for Your Domain Name in Gmail – Use GSuite to Create Domain Email

    The final step is to activate Gmail for your Google Workspace accounts.

    On the page, youll see the following MX records:

    • aspmx.l.google.com / priority = 1
    • alt3.aspmx.l.google.com / priority = 10
    • alt4.aspmx.l.google.com / priority = 10

    Youll need to open a new tab and go to your hosts DNS tool, or re-open the DNS tool tab from earlier.

    For other hosts, youd need to access your DNS tool, for example, through logging into your cPanel and opening DNS Zone Editor.

    Select the appropriate domain, and then click the Add Record button to open a new window.

    Fill out the appropriate priority and then copy and paste the destination. Double-check that everything is correct, and click Add Record to complete. Repeat the process for the four alternative MX destinations.

    If your host has email enabled by default, you might need to remove existing MX records.

    For Those Using A Web Host

    If you want to use a web host as an email service, first sign up with aweb host. Many, if not all,domain registrars are alsothemselves web hosts, so it’s possible to purchase a web hosting account from them if you don’t want to look foranother company.

    If you have signed up with a separate company as a web host, you will need to log into your registrar again andpoint your domainto that web hosting account. If you have signed up for web hosting at your registrar, you probably don’t need to do this step, since they willautomatically do it by default. But don’t let that stop you from using 2 separate companies if you wish pointinga domain is an easy task.

    Once you do that, the web host will automatically set up their email facilities so that you can access your mail through botha webmail interface and an email program, as well as provide you with a website and all its accompanying facilities. If your only purpose is to usethis account to email, you can just ignore the website and other features.

    Note, though, that since this is a web host and not merely an email host, you will probably need to log into yourweb hosting control panel tomanage some things associated with your domain.     Allow Gmail To Receive Emails Using Pop3

    Once you have your custom email account, youre going to use something called POP3 to connect Gmail to your custom email address. Essentially, these settings let your free Gmail account import emails from your email hosting .

    To get started, you need to find your emails POP3 settings. At Bluehost, you can do this by clicking the Connect Devices tab when youre editing your email account. Heres what it looks like:

    If your email hosting is elsewhere, youll want to consult your services documentation or reach out to their support if you cant find your POP3 information.

    Then:

    • Open the Gmail settings by clicking the gear icon in the top-right corner and selecting See all settings.
