My Domain Name Registrar Denied My Request Why What Do I Do

How To Move / Transfer A Domain Name To A New Host / Owner / Person / Or Account

There are a few reasons why your request may have been denied.

There could be a discrepancy between your information and that of the domain owner. Alternatively, they cant verify that youre the owner. Make sure your contact information is up to date, and be sure to send what they need from you .

The domain name owner may have sent an objection to the transfer. If youre not the domain name owner, be sure to get in contact with them to resolve the issue.

If you owe your DNS registrar any fees from previous domain purchases, they may have put your domain name on hold. Be sure to pay any outstanding amount owed.

Your domain name may still be under Lock in your portal. Make sure this setting is set on Unlocked.

Alternatively, you may be under the 60-day Change of Registrant lock, in which case youll have to wait 60 days to make the transfer.

  • Under the domain you’d like to transfer, select Manage> Manage domain.

  • Check your inbox for an authorization code email, and copy and use the as needed.

  • You’re also welcome to simply update your domain’s nameservers to provide a new host with full DNS control. Changing your nameservers can sometimes involve less hassle than transferring it.

How To Make Money Selling Domain Names (With Earnings Proof from $14.22 to $2,000)

Kate said:Why would you want to do that, rather than a regular transfer ? Dropping a name is dangerous, unless it is garbage and you are sure nobody will want it. But then why are you holding a bad name ? The answer is that it depends, some registrars allow you to delete the name at once so that it becomes available to register again, but most of the time they will just send it to early redemption .

    • If the names are expensive to hold, then it’s less likely that somebody will want to buy them. You have held about 26 domains for a year already. Have you got any inquiries or sales that make you confident you will eventually sell any ?
    • If the names drop, the registry could reclassify them as premium registration fee and premium renewal. Or the registry could possibly keep the names for itself, rather than make them available for registration again. It has happened in some extensions.

    Undelegation And Deletion Of Non

If domain name is not renewed before registration expiry date specified in Expiration Date in Whois service, domain delegation will be suspended, domain will have clientHold status and the services using this domain will cease to operate. In this case the Registrant reserves the right to renew registration within blocking period.

If domain name renewal is not paid for during specified period, Registrar starts the deletion procedure. Depending on TLD, deletion procedure can take up to 35 days.

Generally, during the deletion procedure domain may be redeemed and renewed upon Registrant’s request.

The duration of registration blocking period for each TLD is specified in the table:

    TLD
    45 30

.RU, . ¤ and .SU domains will be deleted on the second business day after the scheduled domain release date, if the scheduled domain release date happens on weekend or a day after the weekend. For other domains the Registry usually sets corresponding status for the domain in Whois service for 30 days:

    • .NET, .COM, .CC, .TV, .BZ, .MN – RedemptionPeriod,
    • .BIZ, .TEL Pending Delete,
    • .INFO, .ORG, .ME, .MOBI, .NAME – PendingDelete Restorable.

If the domain name is not redeemed and renewed, it will be deleted from the registry during 5 days after Redemption period . During those 5 days domain redemption, renewal and registration are not available.

Upon domain name deletion from the Registry domain name is available for registration to anyone.

    Transfer A Specific Domain

To transfer a single domain name outside of your management as a reseller, it is necessary for your customer to launch a domain name transfer operation, just as if they were transferring the domain from another registrar.

In preparation for this transfer you should do the following:

    • For some extensions, provide your customer with the domainâs authorization code.

    • Make sure the transfer lock is disabled for the domain name.

You can do both of these from the management page for the domain. You can find this page by following these steps:

  • Log into your Gandi account.

  • Select âDomainâ from the left menu.

  • Select the domain you wish to transfer from the list.

  • Click on the âTransfer Outâ tab.

  • From here you can find the transfer authorization code and disable tranfer lock.

During the transfer process, we will create a new account for the customer .

Decide On A Public Or Private Domain

How to Release a Forwarded Domain Name EncompassREI

Some providers allow you to obscure public WHOIS information for your website. When searched, your website will return contact information for your registrar rather than your personal details. This is useful if you’re running a business out of your home or don’t want your phone number displayed. However, private domains are more expensive than public domains.

    Technical Issue #: Script

Another hurdle you’ll face in moving the website is if your website depends on computer programs that run on yourweb host’s computer to generate a part or the whole of the site’s content.

For example, if your website has forms of any kind, such as a shopping cart, a contact form, or a search engine form,it probably depends on one or more scripts. Blogs are also generated using scripts.

Since you can’t log into your website via FTP or your web host’s control panel, you have basically no way of gettinga copy of those scripts and a copy of any data stored in your web host’sdatabase system,if any. While you may think that it’s a simple matter to use your web browser to save the pages on your existing website, and thencopy those pages to your new web hosting account, you will find that your new site will not function the same way asit did previously if any part of your site depended on scripts. For one, the forms that are on your pages will nolonger work. Neither will your shopping cart.

Technical Issue #: Folders Images Style Sheets And Javascript Files

The appearance of your web page depends on many elements. Its content is contained in the file you see in your web browser. The images on the page is kept in separate files on your website. The appearanceis kept in yet another file, called a style sheet. Your page may also depend on JavaScript files kept in separate locationsas well. See the article What are HTML,CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Perl? Do I Need to Learn Them to Create a Website? for a brief overview ofthese elements if you want to have a better understanding of how your website works.

As such, if you use your web browser to save the pages on your existing website, you will needto make sure you save all these additional files and put them in the correct folders matching theexisting folder structure of your website. Otherwise, when you transfer your saved pages toyour new web host, your website will not look the same.

For the newcomer, it may not be easy to figure out how to save all the necessary elements that make up asingle web page, and reconstruct it correctly on a new web host. The task is actually doable, and isn’ttoo difficult. But the problem is that requires a bit of technical knowledge. If you don’t alreadyknow how to read HTML, and don’t understand how file paths and URLs work, it’ll probably take you a lot of time toget it right. And even then, you would still have not solved the other issues mentioned above.

Once you have done the above, move on to the next section.

Remove The Transfer Protection For The Domain Name

Log in to your OVHcloud Control Panel and select Web Cloud in the top navigation bar. Click Domain names in the services bar on the left-hand side, then choose the domain name concerned.

On the General information tab you can find the “Protection against domain name transfer” slider button under Security, set to Enabled by default.

You can also refresh the page if it seems to take longer.

Once the status has changed, the domain name will remain unlocked for seven days. After this period, the protection will automatically turn back on. If you do not request a domain transfer at your new registrar during this time, it will be necessary to unlock the domain again.
