How Do I Transfer Domains To Godaddy
Transferring domains to GoDaddy is simple.
You can transfer up to 500 of your domains to GoDaddy at once in our bulk domain transfer tool. If the extension youd like to transfer isnt listed, you cant transfer that domain name to us.
Will I Still Be Able To Transfer A Website From One Email Address To Another
You can update the email address on your Vistaprint account at anytime, but you will no longer be able to move a single website from one account to another.
You may have recently received a notice that Webs is being retired and that your site is being transferred to Vistaprint. This article is provided to answer any questions you may have regarding the upgrade.
Review Your Domain Provider’s Transfer Policy
Before you begin the transfer process, check your domain provider’s transfer policy to make sure that domain transfers are supported. Most domain providers support domain transfers, but some don’t. You can find your domain provider’s transfer policy by searching their help center for transfer domain:

Initiating Your Domain Transfer
In order to initiate the domain transfer, you will also need to specify the domains EPP code . Its an authorization code which is unique to each domain and is used as a safeguard against unauthorized domain transfers. You can get the EPP code from your current domain name registrar.
You will also be prompted to review and update if necessary the domain owner details. When ready, complete the order, and the transfer will be automatically initiated. If the EPP key you provided was correct, then the transfer will immediately be initiated and you will be notified when it is completed.
Prepare Your Domain For Transfer
Before you can transfer your domain to Shopify, you need to unlock your domain and get a transfer authorization code from your domain provider.
When you transfer a domain to Shopify, your domain’s A record and CNAME record are set to Shopify’s default domain records. If additional records are present on your domain before the transfer, then make a copy of those records to add to the Domains section of your Shopify admin after the transfer. For example, you might need to add an MX record to reconnect your domain to an email hosting service.
Note
The process for preparing a domain for transfer varies by third-party domain provider. If you have trouble preparing your domain for transfer, then contact your third-party domain provider. Shopify Support can’t log in to your third-party domain account for you, even if you give your explicit permission.

What If My Current Registrar Does Not Allow Me To Transfer My Domain
All ICANN accredited registrars are required to provide everything necessary to transfer out your domain including allowing you to receive the EPP authorization code, unlocking your domain and making any necessary changes to WHOIS such as updating information and removing privacy if necessary.
If your registrar is not allowing you to do any of these things, we would recommend filing a complaint on ICANN’s transfer complaint form.
One thing to note is that many companies that offer domains are resellers for actual registrars. You may therefore need to contact the parent registrar for your domain if the company you are corresponding with is a reseller and is not providing support.
You can determine the registrar for any domain by doing a WHOIS search.
Vistaprint Website Transition Process
If transitioning from a Vistaprint website to a Flipcause website, please be prepared for the following process:
1. A domain release needs to be requested from Vistaprint. A $20 fee is paid to Vistaprint by the account holder*. Within 48 hours, the domain will be released and instructions will be emailed to the account holder on how to transfer the domain.
2. Once the domain is released and instructions are received from Vistaprint, a domain transfer needs to be initiated. The account holder* will need to register with another domain registrar, such as GoDaddy or Namecheap, and initiate a transfer for the domain. To begin a transfer, typically the new registrar will require payment for a one-year domain registration, which is usually between $11 – $20 for a year. .
3. Once the transfer is initiated, there may be additional steps required, depending on the instructions sent from Vistaprint and from the new domain registrar. The full transfer typically takes 5 business days to complete.
4. Once the transfer is successfully completed, Flipcause is then able to log into the new domain registrar and change the settings required for the domain to point to your new website!
As you can see, a minimum of 7 business days is required for the above process . A more realistic estimate is about 10 calendar days, but may take longer depending on any delays in required actions.

Youll Need A Home For Your Newly
Before you can actually transfer the domain away, youll need at least one account elsewhere to receive the domain name.
I say at least one because after having experienced the ups and downs of various web hosting companies, I prefer to register all my domains with a service that handles only that. Then when I have a site ready for a particular domain I can just point the domain to the new site. It is an extra service to deal with, though.
I have been very happy with NameSilo for domains. They do offer hosting, but I cannot vouch for that service. And again, I dont recommend keeping domains and website with the same provider.
How Are Custom/private Nameservers Handled
Any custom/private nameservers you have will not be impacted by a transfer.
For example, if you are transferring the domain example.com and had ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com setup, both of these nameservers will not be impacted by the transfer and there will be no need to set them up again once the transfer completes provided you select the default Make No Changes transfer configuration option.

How Will I Access My Account After Migration
If you already had a Vistaprint account with the same email address as on your Webs account, you will find it on the dashboard of that account under My Account > My Digital Marketing:
If you do not have an existing Vistaprint account, one will be created for you. Once the designers are ready for your site, you will receive an email with instructions on how to set your password.
What Vistaprint Wants From You
When you sign up for a Vistaprint website package, Vistaprint registers the domain name you specify. This means they own it, as you may have discovered. Vistaprint will release it to you so you can use it to point to another site, but they require an administrative fee from you.
As of the last time I checked , that fee was $19.99. Not exactly highway robbery, but about double what NameSilo charges for a domain.
If the domain name is important to you there is really not much you can do but pay the fee.
Once the domain is released to you, you can then change the records so that you are the official owner. That will then allow you to start the transfer process. Vistaprint outlines that process here.
If youre not familiar with domain names, DNS and web hosting, it may seem a bit much. Just take it step by step. Get on the phone with Vistaprint as many times as necessary to get through the process.

How To Transfer Your Domain Away From Vistaprint
To transfer your domain name away from vistaprint you will need to contact them directly and tell them that you want to transfer your domain name away. They will then send you login information to OpenSRS which is where your domain name can then be managed from.
If you then forward this email on to us we will take care of the rest of the transfer process.
If you would prefer to do this yourself then login to with the details you were sent an goto the “Domain Extras” menu link and in the “New domain tag” box type WEBSPEED and click save
How Long Do Transfers Take To Complete
The short answer is that some transfers can be completed within 30 minutes, while others will take 5-7 days. This difference is entirely based upon the registrar from which you are transferring your domains.
Some registrars allow expediting outgoing transfers, while others do not. It is not required that registrars provide this option. Please ask your current registrar if you do not know.
Other factors impacting the time it takes to complete transfers include how quickly the domain is unlocked, retrieving the correct EPP authorization code and verifying the email our system sends to confirm the transfer.
