Importing Your Domain Email Account Into Your Gmail Account
If you are using Gmail, you can import your domain email account into your Gmail account using Gmails Mail Fetcher feature.
Gmails Mail Fetcher feature imports all your old domain emails into your Gmail account and then continues to bring in new emails sent to your domain email account.
In this article, we will show you how to import your domain email account into your Gmail account.
Obtaining A Domain Name
Before you can have a Gmail domain name, you first must register a domain. If that step is already completed, just skip this section and move on to the G Suite section. For those of you that have yet to complete this vital process, fear not, Domain.com has made domain registration cheap and easy.
In order to claim a domain name, it must be registered with ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a nonprofit that keeps track of available, unused domain names. Because of regulations, a domain can only be registered with ICANN through a domain registrar such as Domain.com.
Domain registrars are afforded this privilege because:
- They have received accreditation through ICANN
- They have built up years of experience in the world of domains
- It helps centralize and track ownership and availability of names

It costs $5 per month and includes 30 GB of cloud storage, compared to $10 per month for the Business account. You can always upgrade later if you find that you need the additional cloud storage or other features that are included in the Business edition.

Reasons To Integrate Custom Domain Email To Gmail Account
When you purchase web hosting, chances are youll get a free business email right out of the box. However, it might take time to get used to because the interface is different from Gmails.
Theres G Suite as an alternative, of course, but you need to invest. The lowest plan costs $6/month for a user, whereas email hosting can start as low as $1.49/month.
Luckily, its possible to use Gmail with your own domain for free. That way, you can have the best of both worlds a custom domain email with the convenience of Gmails interface. You also dont have to log in to different platforms to manage your personal and business emails.

You certainly dont need to pay for Google Workspace when you start out because all the tools you will need are provided for free. Eventually, however, you may want to upgrade to Google Workspace. How To Receive/read Your Domain Names Email On Gmail
Unfortunately, there is no direct way to do this except by using Google Apps but as I said, I dont think its worth it you move your emails and everything to Googles. Id prefer to have my domain emails stored on my web host though I want to use just Gmail to read my domain name emails.
The workaround is to just Forward your emails on your domain name through the cPanel settings. This way, you keep a record of your emails on your web host and can read + reply your emails on Gmail!
If you are worried about the space it takes, just login to your domain names email inbox and clean them up. Im with HostGator with unlimited space so I cant be bothered for now. Its good to have backups anyway in case something happens to my Gmail 🙂
