There are plenty of situations where redirecting a domain or URL can be useful. The most common reasons are:
- Having duplicate content. Multiple posts that contain the same content can negatively impact SEO. Search engines cant decide which URL is the correct one and which one to rank on the SERP.
- Managing multiple domains. Instead of using multiple domains to display the same page, you can instead redirect them to the main one.
- Migrating to a new domain. Again, you can permanently redirect an old domain to a new one by using a 301 redirect type. This carries over Google PageRank and other SEO factors like page authority.
- Changing a posts URL. You can avoid the 404 error by redirecting any deleted page URLs to a new one.

Domain redirecting is a feature that maps an individual domain to another one. Domain redirecting or domain forwarding may require basic knowledge about HTML if one plans on setting up the code in the pages source. Most domain registrars like GoDaddy and Namecheap offer free domain forwarding services. This article will discuss domain forwarding on Namecheap.
Adding A Domain To Web Hosting
After connecting your domain to your Crazy Domains’ Web Hosting, you can then add and set it up on your Hosting Manager via the Connect Domains option.
To access this option, follow the steps below:
Note: If you want a different Subdomain name, you can change it by manually entering your preferred name in the Subdomain field.
In the Document Root field, the system will also automatically create a directory path inside your hosting space, which will have the same name as your domain name by default.
Note: If you want to rename the default path, you can change it by manually typing the path name you prefer in the Document Root field.

What Is The Difference Between A 301 And 302 Redirect
To forward your domain name to a different website address, you can use 301/302 redirects. 301 Redirect Method A 301 redirect is the preferred method to redirect because it tells users and search engines that your page has been moved permanently. Your website visitors will be redirected to your new page, replacing the old page. Note: To forward a Subdomain or Subdirectory, you must first use web forwarding on your primary domain. After you have successfully configured Web Forwarding on your primary domain, go back to the Advanced tool and click Manage beside Web forwarding, followed by +Add Web Forwarding. Please see the image below to serve as an example. Enter the Subdomain after you have set the forwarding source to Subdomain. Click Add, then Save. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for changes to update throughout the entire web.
Choosing to forward a Subdomain allows you to redirect a variation of your domain to a new destination URL. This allows you to select the specific version of your domain you wish to forward versus forwarding the Standard URL. You can use subdomains for hosting quote forms, mobile sites, different markets, ecommerce stores, and blogs amongst others. A subdomain gives you the ability to dedicate a separate section of your website without having to build a new site or confuse your visitors with domain redirections.
Note: Using a subdomain will tell search engines to treat it as a separate site. A subdomain is like a second site where you will have to build SEO.

How To Forward A Domain With Godaddy
GoDaddy offers domain forwarding services. To forward a domain to another site, follow these steps:
1. Log into your GoDaddy account.2. Click on your name in the upper-right part of the screen to open up the Control Panel.3. From the Control Panel, click the Manage Domains option.4. The next page will show the list of domains under your account. Click on the domain name you want to set the forwarding feature.
.5. The selected domain names settings will be displayed. Scroll down and click on the Manage DNS option located on the lowermost portion of the page.6. You are now on the DNS Manage page. Scroll down to the lower-most part of the page and click the ADD option beside the word DOMAIN under the FORWARDING tab.7. Put in the website you want where you want to redirect the domain. For this example, we will put a Facebook page link.8. Choose the forwarding type Permanent OR Temporary.9. Select forwarding settings Forward only OR Forward with masking.10. Click the option to update the nameservers and DNS settings to support the change.11. Click Save. You are done.
Take note: GoDaddy will review your request, and if there are no conflicts, then the forwarding feature will be activated within 48 hours.

Redirect And Keep Everything After The Url
The first option will show all of the same content on one URL as you would another. For example, if you just changed your domain to DomainB.com, but you still have plenty of visitors coming to DomainA.com, you would use this to show them all of the existing content that is located on the new domain, without the need to update both websites.
To do this, you would modify your .htaccess file for the domain that your users will go to, and insert these lines of code:

If you are using the file manager in cPanel, be sure that you have the option to show hidden files selected.
Warning: If using this option, search engines such as Google or Bing will see multiple sites with the same content and can cause ranking drops in one, or both of the sites. From an SEO standpoint, your best option is to create 301 redirects instead.
What does the above redirect do?After adding this line into your .htaccess file, you will be able to go to DomainA.com/YourPage and it will show the content from DomainB.com/YourPage
