Transfer Couk And Uk Domains To Another Registrar

.CO.UK and .UK domains use a different transfer-out process:

You select the registrar you want to transfer the domain to
Google Domains contacts Nominet, the registry, and informs them of the transfer
You receive an email notice from your new registrar to confirm and complete the transfer

To transfer out .CO.UK and .UK domains:

Under “Transfer out,” click Choose registrar.

Select To a different domain registrar and click Continue, then sign in if necessary.

In the Transfer Out screen, enter the tag for the registrar you’re transferring to.

Go to nominet.uk/registrar-list/ and search for your new registrar.

Copy the registrar tag and paste it into the Transfer Out screen in Google Domains.

The registrar tag is a code recognized by Nominet. Tags are usually based on the name of the company. For example, the registrar tag for Google Domains is “GOOGLE.”

Click Transfer and then Accept to confirm you want to transfer the domain.

Go to your new registrar and follow the transfer procedures there.

During the transfer process, youll receive an email with instructions to confirm the transfer process. Follow these instructions to complete the transfer. If you don’t receive this email within a few days, go to the Nominet website and follow the transfer instructions. You may be required to pay a fee to transfer through the Nominet site.

Have Google Crawl The New Domain

You should request that Google crawl the new website, in order to let them quickly know about the new domain and so that they can index the contents.

To do so, just type the URL you want crawled into the top search bar in Search Console. This will give you access to the URL Inspection tool where you can send single URLs to the through the REQUEST INDEXING Indexing link.

Unlock your domain.

Disable your domain’s privacy setting.

Update your domain’s contact information because we’ll need it to send you a transfer confirmation email.

Make sure that your domain has existed with your current registrar for at least 60 days.

If you have changed any of your domain contact information, you must Opt-Out of the 60-day domain transfer lock with your registry.

How To Transfer A Domain Name To Google Domains

Also, before we begin the process to transfer a domain, we will have to do somethings on current registrar which our domain name is managed on, which is GoDaddy for our case.

1: Unlock the domain name

GoDaddy normally locks domain names by default, so that nobody can transfer the domains out. If we want to transfer the domain to another domain registrar, we have to unlock the domain manually first.

We can set the domain lock to off for free on GoDaddy website.

2: Cancel Protected Registration or DBP Private Registration:

If you have the Protected Registration on a domain which you want to transfer from GoDaddy to another registrar, you need to cancel it. You might not have protected registration for you domain, but you might have Private Registration service for your domains. If you want to transfer a domain, you must cancel the service first.

You can scroll a little bit and unlock your domain. At the bottom, you will see that the domain lock is On. Just turn it OFF. You have to change the status to Unlock and it will be done.
