Importing Email From Godaddy To Gmail
We on-boarded a client who had their email for the past 3 years with GoDaddy. Since we support Google’s GSuite, we moved him over. It was an extremely painful process to figure out how to import his 10,000 archived emails.
I read all the Google tutorials but nothing would work because his old email and his new email were the same. Let’s call it “” for this example.
I finally found a solution after 15 days of trying different things.
Some Important Notes About This Method
While the Gmail part of this method is 100% free, there are some caveats to this method in that youll need to already have email hosting to make it work. Typically, you would get this through your web host if you have a website.
For example, if you host your website with Bluehost, Bluehost also helps you create your own custom email address as part of its service .
If you dont own a domain, heres a quick tool you can use to find out if the domain name youre interested in is available:
Once you set up your email address with Bluehost, the method in this tutorial would let you use Gmail to send/receive those emails at no extra cost. Unfortunately, already having this email hosting is a basic requirement for the free method.
For both creating your website and setting up the custom email account to use with Gmail, we recommend Bluehost. Plans start at just $2.75 per month and that includes hosting your website, hosting your email account, plus a free domain name.
If you dont need a website, another option would be to purchase email hosting through your domain registrar. For example, if you registered your domain through Namecheap, Namecheap sells a cheap email hosting service starting at just $0.79 $0.46 per month.
For the rest of this tutorial, well use Bluehost for our example screenshots. However, the same basic principles will apply to any host the interface will just be a little different.

How To Use Gmail For Your Godaddy Email

Written on . Posted in Blog, Useful Information.
How to use gmail for your Godaddy email for free?I would say 7 out of 10 of our clients pay too much for hosting when they first come to us. If their website does not require to host so many files videos, pictures, etc there is no reason for them to pay more than $10/month for their hosting! So we usually direct them to Godaddy because we like their customer service, we like their price, and frankly speaking, our job is not hosting, so overcharge our clients for products they could get on their own is not our policy! Beware of webdesign companies offering you to host your website why would you? All they really do is make you pay more for what providers like Godaddy provides them.Anyway, since a lot of our clients are set up on Godaddy now, we had to find a better way for them to check, read and write their emails than the good old webmail secureserver.net. GOOD NEWS! You can set up your Godaddy email on your gmail account and use gmail for your Godaddy email to receive and reply with a very quick and easy process.
Ok so depending on the type of gmail you have, you will either use scenario 1 or scenario 2. Scenario 2 is for traditional gmail: you are using your Gmail username to login to gmail.

Different Scenarios Of Having Email
The email setup in GoDaddy is easy when you have a domain and email plans on GoDaddy. But it is very common to have a domain registered with one registrar and hosting a site with separate company. In such a case you should carefully setup email either with registrar or with the hosting company. Any wrong entries in the DNS will cause the emails stop working. Most of the time, you cant receive any emails, though you can just send email that will never sent to the recipient. We have a domain registered with GoDaddy and host the site on SiteGround. On top we do have Cloudflare CDN enabled. In this case, there are few options possible to setup the email.
