Though once your name has been purchased, it can generally take between 24-72 hours for the name servers connected to the domain to update globally. This process is known as DNS propagation.

Though GoDaddy warns you that the initial domain price is different from the renewal price, it is not justified to charge such a huge amount for domain management services. Moreover, there is no point in attracting customers with lucrative initial domain costs and charging them a fortune a year later. You might have to pay a similar price for your next domain renewal with GoDaddy or maybe even higher than that.
In my opinion, this business tactic of attracting customers by offering lower initial prices and charging enormously higher renewal prices later is not good at all and far from being ethical. You should rather choose a domain registrar that doesnt exploit you neither at the beginning nor later.

No, it is not worth paying for the ever-increasing GoDaddy renewal fees. I dont find any good reason to continue paying for the unnecessarily high GoDaddy renewal charges. I couldnt even find any reasonable justification for the continual increment in prices. The GoDaddy executives blame the registry for its overpriced renewals as can be seen in the screenshot below from one of the supposed resolutions for high renewal charges, found at its community pages:
But if this would have been the problem, GoDaddy wouldnt have been the only domain registrar increasing the renewal prices. Many other GoDaddy competitors are offering domains at reasonable prices and charging a reasonable amount for domain renewals as well. Therefore, I dont see any point in sticking with GoDaddy and paying hefty renewal costs.

It is really simple to transfer your domain to GoDaddy! All you need to do is follow these simple steps:
Step 1: The first step is to unlock the domain name that you wish to transfer to GoDaddy from your current domain name registrar.
Step 2: Now that you have unlocked your domain, you can type it into the Domain Transfer page at GoDaddys website.
GoDaddy will get the data from your current registrar, quote you a price, and tell you if the domain name is unlocked or not.
Youll know if the domain is unlocked, as there will be a green check mark next to Unlock the domain. If this area is not green but yellow, you will have to verify with your current registrar that your domain is actually unlocked.
Step 3: When you unlock your domain, you will be given an authorization code this is also called an EPP code or a transfer code.
Copy the code from your current registrar, then head on over to GoDaddys website and enter the code in the field under Get authorization code.
As long as the code is valid as it should, you will be able to proceed to the next step of the domain name transfer.
Step 4: Now that both the Unlock the domain and Get authorization code steps are marked in green, go ahead and click Continue.
