How To Accept Godaddy Transfer
Once the transfer request has been placed and the process has been initiated at the registry level , you should be able to accept the transfer on GoDaddy’s side to speed up the process:
- Log in to your Account Manager

The first step in buying a domain someone else owns is finding out who the other person is. You can do this by using WHOIS. This is like the white pages of a phone book. Many times the name, email and phone number of the person who owns the domain name is listed there.
There are times, however, when the person uses a privacy service or the information is out of date. Privacy on the WHOIS acts like an unlisted phone number it adds other information on the WHOIS to guard the owners personal information. The privacy email information almost always forwards to the real owners email address, so it is still possible to try and contact them through the private email listed in the WHOIS directory.

How Do I Transfer My Domain Name To A New Registrar
If you wish to move your domain name from one ICANN-accredited registrar to another, you may initiate the transfer process by contacting the registrar to which you wish to transfer the name. Note that there are certain situations that can prevent a domain name from being transferred, such as if it is subject to a 60-day Change of Registrant lock. See FAQ #8 for more information. Absent any valid reasons a transfer request cannot be processed, the registrar will confirm your intent to transfer your domain name using the Initial Authorization for Registrar Transfer form. If you do not respond or return the form to the registrar, your transfer request will not be processed. Please note that as of 25 May 2018, if the gaining registrar cannot access registration data for a name subject to a transfer, then the gaining registrar is not required to obtain the Form of Authorization from the Transfer Contact.

Guide To Moving Godaddy Domain To Another Account:
To get started with moving a GoDaddy domain to another account, you need the following details from the buyer:
Once you have it:
- Select the domain which you wish to transfer.
This will bring up domain settings and here you need to scroll down, find and click Transfer domain to another GoDaddy account
It will display a pop-up where you need to enter the other GoDaddy account holders login ID and registered email address.
Make sure to click on Keep the current nameservers for these domains or else GoDaddy will change the DNS to point to GoDaddy servers. If you have a site on that domain and its hosted on any 3rd party server, the site will start showing an error.
Enter the details and click Next:
Since you are not using the domain anymore, I recommend you select the second option which says: Use details from specified customer account. This will update the domain registration information using the new domain holders details.
On the next page, you will have to approve the TOS. Do so, and click Next.
This will save and update the changes. Now, if you go to your domain manager page, it will show the domain status as Changing accounts.
Now, check your email from GoDaddy and approve the domain transfer:
Similarly, the person who is receiving the domain name, will also receive an email and they have to approve receiving the domain name by clicking the link on email.
Disable Godaddy Whois Privacy Protection
If Whois Privacy Protection service for the domain is enabled, you will also need to disable it. When GoDaddy privacy protection is enabled, it is against their policy to allow domain transfers. Any GoDaddy Domain transfer requests submitted while DomainsByProxy is active, will be declined.
NOTE: Private Registration cancellations are irreversible. This means that once canceled, it can’t be enabled back and, if you decide to stay with GoDaddy, the private registration needs to be purchased again.

Registrar Transfer Example In Action
In this example, Ill explain how to perform a registrar transfer from GoDaddy to HostGator. Before you begin, it is strongly advised that you create a backup of your website.
Step 1: Unlock the Domain
The party making the transfer must first unlock the domain for transfer in their GoDaddy account.
- Sign in to your GoDaddy account
- In the Visit My Account tab select Domains and click Manage.
- Under the Settings tab find the Lock tab, click Manage and check Off.

Can I Make Changes To A Domain While Its Being Transferred
You cannot make any changes to a domain name when its actively in the transfer process.
This means youre unable to:
- Update nameservers.
- Change the WHOIS registration information.
- Renew the domain registration.
If you must make one of those edits, youll need to contact the originating registrar with a request to cancel the transfer. Otherwise, youll need to wait the standard 5-7 business days for the process to finish so you can make your edits.

Transferring From One Registrar To Another
The exact steps youll need to take will vary depending on which registrar your domain is currently registered with and where the domain is being transferred to, but it will consist of these essential steps:
1. Disable WHOIS/domain privacy.
