Connect Custom Domain To Gmail
You will need to add the alias email address as an account to your Gmail inbox.
In the top right corner of Gmail, click on the Settings button, then on See all settings.In the Settings screen, click the Accounts and Import tab.
Scroll down to Send mail as and click Add another email address you own.In the first Add another email address box, enter the name you want recipients of your email to see and the forwarded email address you are setting up and click on Next step.
Set the Gmail SMTP server as the mail server for your forwarded alias. Change the values in fields to enter the following:
- SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Username: Your Gmail account
- Password: The generated Google App Password
Click Add Account.
After you have successfully added the account, return to Gmail. You will see a message from Gmail Team with the subject Gmail Confirmation: Send Mail As and the address you have just added. Follow the instructions in the message to confirm the email address.
When you send mail from your Gmail account, click the triangle next to your From address to choose to send the message from the account you just added.
You can now send and receive emails from Gmail using your domain name.

Setting Up My Custom Email Address Through Gmail
Google gives you the option of checking and sending emails hosted under your domain via Gmails interface. You will effectively use Gmail as an email client that uses POP3 to retrieve your incoming messages from your mail server and SMTP to process your outgoing communication.
Here are the steps:
The settings for adding more email addresses to your account are only available in Gmails browser interface, so youll need a desktop or a laptop computer to complete the process.
Click the Gear icon in the top-right corner, select See all settings, and open the Accounts and Import tab. Under the Check mail from other accounts section, click Add a mail account.
Enter your custom email address in the pop-up that appears and click Next.

Setup Your New Email As An Alias In Gmail
Congratulations, youre now receiving all of your emails in Gmail for free. The final step is to create an alias so that you can also SEND all of your emails using Gmail for free.
To set up an alias in Gmail, log in to your free Gmail account created in step 1 and click the settings icon. Then click Settings.
Then click the Accounts and Import tab and scroll down until you see Send mail as:. Click the Add another email address link.
Enter the name youd like to use for the email address. Then enter the custom email address you created in Bluehost as the email address. Make sure the Treat as an alias checkbox is checked.
If all went well, Gmail should send a confirmation email with your confirmation code. Simply enter the confirmation code and click Verify.
Finally, go back to the Settings -> Accounts and Import tab. Find the Send mail as:section and set your new email address as the default address to send mail as.

Once youve verified your domain name, you also need to add another type of record called MX records so that Google Workspace can manage the email for your domain name.

Now you can finally get started with setting up your Gmail with a custom domain email address. First things first, youll need to set up your custom email address i.e email@example.com.
First of all, go to the cPanel of your website hosting to prepare your email account. Here, scroll down to the Email section and click on Email Accounts.
On this page, all the Email accounts currently in use are going to be listed. If you want to manage yours or add another email address in the future, you can do it from here. For now, just click on the Create button.

Login to your Gmail account, and click on the settings icon on the left corner of the page.

Enter here the email address you want to connect. It will check your address for a while and then ask for the password, POP username, and POP server.

Fill the options correctly and click on continue. As you get verified, you will be asked for a few more options as I am showing in the image below. Do keep the import option checked, you can opt for others by your choice. I recommend giving a proper label, like Imported Mails.

Now all the data of your custom/domain email account has been requested imported into the Gmail account. This process may take a few minutes to complete. If the messages of your custom email are not imported in Gmail, then wait for some time, it will be done in 1-2 days.
Now your domain mails have been added to the Gmail account. You just have to do one more setting, to receive and send mail so that you can receive and send mail through the Gmail account.
