I Get A Cnamealreadyexistsexception Error
If you get a CNAMEAlreadyExistsException error, this means that one of the host names that you tried to connect is already deployed to another Amazon CloudFront distribution. Perform the following steps to diagnose the cause of the error.
Sign in to the and verify that you don’t have this domain deployed to any other distribution. A single CNAME record can be attached to one CloudFront distribution at a time.
If you previously deployed the domain to a CloudFront distribution you must remove it.
Choose Distributions on the left navigation menu.
Select the name of the distribution to edit.
Choose the General tab. In theSettings section, chooseEdit.
Remove the domain name from Alternate domain name . Then choose, Save changes.
Check to see whether this domain is connected to a different Amplify app that you own. If so, make sure you are not trying to reuse one of the hostnames. If you are using www.example.com for another app, you cannot use www.example.com with the app that you are currently connecting. You can use other subdomains, such as blog.example.com.
If this domain was successfully connected to another app and then deleted within the last hour, try again after at least one hour has passed. If you still see this exception after 6 hours, see GitHub Issues and open a new issue if it doesnt already exist.
How To Check If The Com Domain Extension Is Not Available
There are many Domain name Generator tools and websites of the domain and hosting provider companies which can help you to look for the desired .com domain. There are domain and hosting provider companies like Bigrock, Bluehost, Namecheap, Godaddy, Hostgator and more. You can use anyone to search for the domain name you are looking for all will show the same results. But there are some particular domain names which are being reserved for the domain provider companies to earn a little more, so that can be a small problem while finding a perfect domain name for your website or blog. However, I have always preferred Godaddy for looking new domain.

Look At Alternative Tlds
In most cases, if your domain name is taken, it means the .com is taken. Often, the other TLDs arent taken, so you could technically opt for one of those.
But wait! Dont rush off and buy whatever TLD you can find.
This is a complicated decision.
Here are some of the factors to keep in mind.
First, people trust .com URLs more than any other TLD.
The .com extension has a lot on its side. Its familiar, its been around for a while, and its been the gold standard of TLDs for years.
Obviously, thats not always the case, but some people will think that no matter what. They cant get their heads around the idea of a trustworthy site that doesnt end in .com.
Third, alternative TLDs have no SEO advantage. No TLD is inherently better than any other.
That information :
So what does this mean for you?
If you want to use a TLD thats not .com, you can do so without losing any SEO power.
However, your audience might not trust it.
It helps if the TLD is directly related to your business or niche. Twitch, a site that broadcasts users playing video games in real time, smartly uses the .tv TLD:
In the end, you have to consider how easy its going to be for your users to remember your URL and whether or not theyll trust a domain thats not a .com.

What To Do When The Domain Name You Want Is Not Available
Having a custom domain is very important for your business and your online brand. It helps to improve your websites credibility your search engine rank.
Choosing a domain name or URL for your website can be a very simple task. A lot of times your first choice may be already taken. Thats no reason to close shop or think of a new idea. It happens to everyone. There are, after all, over 700 million websites in the world and counting.
Still, there are ways you can still have the domain of your dreams, unless you expect to have something like nike.com, then well, good luck.
1. Try an alternative extensionAs of 2012, there are over 103 million .COM domains registered. It is by far the most popular domain extension. This means, that quite often the .COM domain youre after may not be available. There are other generic top-level domains on offer besides .COM. For instance, .NET, .INFO and .BIZ are all other extensions you could consider. Another great alternative is .ORG for organizations and .EDU is an option for educational institutions.
Or if youre not married to the M you can go with .CO, which started life as a country code domain for Columbia and is now . Some high profile names, such as Vine and Walmart , are opting for .CO domains.
In any case, you dont always need a .COM to have a visible online business.
3. Add a keywordIf your business name is not available as a custom domain, why not add a keyword that explains what your business does?

My Domain Hosted With A Third
If your custom domain is stuck in the Pending Verification state, verify that your CNAME records are resolving. See the previous troubleshooting topic, How do I verify that my CNAME resolves, for instructions on performing this task.
If your CNAME records are not resolving, confirm that the CNAME entry exists in your DNS settings with your domain provider.
It is important to update your CNAME records as soon as you create your custom domain. After your app is created in the Amplify Console, your CNAME record is checked every few minutes to determine if it resolves. If it doesnt resolve after an hour, the check is made every few hours, which can lead to a delay in your domain being ready to use. If you added or updated your CNAME records a few hours after you created your app, this is the most likely cause for your app to get stuck in the Pending Verification state.
If you have verified that the CNAME record exists, then there may be an issue with your DNS provider. You can either contact the DNS provider to diagnose why the DNS verification CNAME is not resolving or you can migrate your DNS to Route 53. For more information, see .

Reverse Dns And Ptr Records
Nameservers are responsible for both name-to-IP-address translations and IP-address-to-name translations . That is, you can also find the host name of a machine based on its IP address.
For historical reasons, the way this is done is to create a dummy top-level domain called .in-addr.arpa.
Domains have top-level domains like .com, and IP addresses have subnets. For example, the IP address 188.8.131.52 is part of the 64.207 subnet. To perform a lookup on an IP address , the IP address must first be reversed. For example, if you want to know the host name corresponding to 184.108.40.206, you would first ask the in-addr.arpa nameserver for 220.127.116.11.in-addr.arpa. The in-addr.arpa nameserver could then hand off your request to the 207.64.in-addr.arpa nameserver. That server might in turn hand off the query to the 129.207.64.in-addr.arpa nameserver, which would finally give you your name.
To set a custom reverse DNS record for your IP address, your registrar or host must allow you to control its DNS. The file with the reverse DNS record is known as a reverse zone file.

Why Can’t I Transfer A Domain Name I Just Registered To Another Registrar
There are certain situations that can prevent a domain name from being transferred to a different registrar, such as a new registration. Your registrar may deny a transfer request if the domain name is within 60 days of initial registration. Another situation is if the domain name is subject to a 60-day Change of Registrant lock. You cannot transfer a domain name to a different registrar within 60 days of making changes to the registrant name, organization or email address . At their discretion, some registrars may provide an option for you to opt-out of this 60-day lock period. However, this rule is in place for your protection against unauthorized transfers and the registrar does not have to offer this option. If your ultimate goal is to transfer the domain name, you may want to consider completing the transfer process before changing your contact information.
Registrars also have the option of denying a transfer request within 60 days from when you last transferred the domain name to a different registrar. You may have the option to change web-hosting providers instead of registrars to avoid the inter-registrar transfer process altogether. You may also update your domain name’s nameservers or change the hosting IP address assigned to your domain name. Check with your registrar and/or hosting provider to see what options you have.
Technical Requirements And Process
In the process of registering a domain name and maintaining authority over the new name space created, registrars use several key pieces of information connected with a domain:
A domain name consists of one or more labels, each of which is formed from the set of ASCII letters, digits, and hyphens , but not starting or ending with a hyphen. The labels are case-insensitive for example, ‘label’ is equivalent to ‘Label’ or ‘LABEL’. In the textual representation of a domain name, the labels are separated by a full stop .
