To get started with moving a GoDaddy domain to another account, you need the following details from the buyer:
Once you have it:
- Select the domain which you wish to transfer.
This will bring up domain settings and here you need to scroll down, find and click Transfer domain to another GoDaddy account
It will display a pop-up where you need to enter the other GoDaddy account holders login ID and registered email address.
Make sure to click on Keep the current nameservers for these domains or else GoDaddy will change the DNS to point to GoDaddy servers. If you have a site on that domain and its hosted on any 3rd party server, the site will start showing an error.
Enter the details and click Next:
Since you are not using the domain anymore, I recommend you select the second option which says: Use details from specified customer account. This will update the domain registration information using the new domain holders details.

In this article, well walk you through the steps of transferring your domain and point out a few things to keep in mind along the way.
Google domains are still in beta and are only available in the United States. The registrar must first transfer the domain to a new one and then the domain must be registered with a different company. In this guide, I will walk you through the steps you must take to unlock and gain access to your domains EPP code through GoDaddy domain manager. You can sign in to your Google domains account from this page. Google will select the name server for you, which you should change to keep your existing name servers in place. After that, Google will charge you $12 to transfer the domain to them. After paying for the domain transfer, you will receive a one-year renewal of your domain.
When you purchase a domain from Google Domains, GoDaddy, or 1& 1 IONOS, the domain is automatically linked to the Shopify store.

Backup Your Website From Godaddy
First, login in to your Godaddy hosting and navigate to My products tab and click manage in your Web hosting tab.
On next window, click on MyphpAdmin on upper left corner
On the left-hand side of new window, you will find your databases from which you should select the database of the website you are transferring. The database will expand on the right side, and you will see various tables appearing, like comments, posts, etc.
Go to top menu and select Export.
In Export Menu select Quick and Format and then select SQL as the format of the database. You can leave all other values in setting to the default selection. Hit go and the database will be saved on your computer.
Next, download the files related to website configuration.
On the next page, find and click on the public_html folder that will open its contents on the right side.
Here you select all or select the folder of the website you want to transfer.
After selecting the files click on the compress and select Zip Archive. Then you should download compressed files to your computer.
Make sure that you have downloaded both the website database and the website files from the public_html folder before moving to the next step.
Alternatively, you can also go to Cpanel of your GoDaddy hosting and take the backup of your website by clicking the backup website option.

Change Domain Privacy Information
If you bought domain privacy when you originally purchased your domain on Google, you will need to disable it before you start the transfer process. To prevent any other roadblocks, its probably also a good idea to select the option to Publish your info in the WHOIS directory.
So, simply go to the section that says Privacy Protection and select the radio button next to Privacy Protection Off and then the one to publish your info in the WHOIS directory. Heres a screenshot of what it looks like:
Step 3: Generate an authorization code Next, you need to click on the two arrows in going in a circular motion logo at the top right of the page. This will take you to the registration and transfer out section.
