The first step is to log in to your website hosting service account. Unfortunately, each website hosting company has a different interface for managing your account and the procedure youll need to follow to get your email up and running can varies widely. If you have trouble navigating your hosts website, the best thing to do is to either call your hosting company and ask for help or use their online help files for direction.

Because GoDaddy is the most popular hosting service today, Ill provide a quick tutorial on how to set up your email using their website.

Use your internet browser to navigate to . Next, log in to the website with either your account number or user name with password. In the top navigation of the site, click on Email and then in the drop down choose My Email Account. A new sub-window will appear within the page with your email account plan options.

If you dont already have an active email account, use a credit to create a new account. Dont worry if this process seems a bit confusing GoDaddys email account setup isnt very intuitive. One thing to keep in mind is their are two common types of email accounts GoDaddy provides you with a standard hosting account: personal email for a single email address and a 100 email address pack. If you unintentionally choose the single email setup, you can always go back and use another credit to add a 100 pack.

Workaround For The Issue

Set Up Domain Email In Outlook On Computer

On the computer, Outlook is included in the Microsoft Office for Mac or Windows. Lucid Gen recommends that you install the 2016 2019 version for a better experience. If your company uses Gmail, please see the article on How to add Gmail to Outlook.

Step 1: Open Outlook and enter your domain email and then click the Continue button.

Step 2: You choose IMAP/POP.

Step 3: You fill in the information that was available when creating the domain email.

• Email Address: is your domain email. Example: minhhieu@huongdan.lucidgen.com
• Username: also your domain email.
• Password: is your domain email password.
• Incoming Server : is your corporate domain name. Example: huongdan.lucidgen.com
• Outgoing Server : also your corporate domain name.

Then click the Add Account button.

Step 4: Click Done to finish setting up the domain email in Outlook on the computer.

This is my result when setting up domain email in Outlook 2019.

To add or remove another domain email account, go to Outlook > Preferences > Account to see a list of accounts.

You can edit or delete the information of existing corporate mail accounts and add new accounts.

How To Set Up Office 365 With A Custom Email Address

For this post, the only things that well assume are that you already have a Microsoft 365 account and a domain name.

If you dont, youll want to:

• Register for your Microsoft 365 account. In the first step of this tutorial, youll use this account to purchase the Office 365 subscription that you need for your custom email address.

Once you have those two things, heres how to set up your custom email address.

Set Up Your Dns Records And Online Services

In this step, youll need to configure your online services and link your domain with Microsofts servers. You can choose to set up your DNS records manually or Microsoft can add them on your behalf if you purchased your domain name from the following registrars:

Unless you have a complex DNS structure, you can pick Set up my online services for me and the details will be automatically populated for you. Then click on Continue:

Next, youll need to select your preferred services such as Microsoft Exchange or Skype for Business. If you opted for the automatic set up in the previous section, Microsoft will configure them for you. When youre done, click on Continue.

Now youll need to link your domains DNS records with Microsofts servers. Click on Import DNS Records or Add Record if you prefer to do it manually:

Your DNS details are available in your registrars control panel, typically under Domains.

How to manually add DNS records if your registrar doesnt support Domain Connect

If youre using a registrar thats not on the list above, youll need to manually add the DNS records via your domain registrar. Or, if youre using your hosts nameservers, youll need to add them via your hosting account.

In your domain registrar account dashboard, find the setting for creating custom MX records . It should look similar to this:

Go to Add a Custom DNS Record and select CNAME as the type. Then, add values as per Microsofts host-specific instructions.

You can set up your domain email account on your Outlook 2016/2013.

Before you set up your iPhone to access your domain emails, you will need to first create your domain email account.

1. Open Outlook 2016 on your computer. If you do not have Outlook 2016 installed, you can purchase and download the application from the Microsoft Store.

If you are using Outlook 2013: the steps are very similar and the settings are essentially identical to that of Outlook 2016.

Setting Up An Outlook Inbox Through Godaddy

When you purchase a Domain with GoDaddy, you also purchase an email. GoDaddy provides Microsoft 365 Email accounts with Outlook. If you do not have an email account, follow the steps below to set up your email account and connect it to Acquire.

Step 1: After logging in to the GoDaddy Home page, click on the drop-down next to your username and select My Products.

Step 2: Then scroll down to Email & Office. The domain you purchased through GoDaddy comes with an email plan.

Step 3: Click on Set up next to the associated domain or Manage All to manage all your domains. Note: If you experience issues at this step, such as a 400 error, try clearing your cookies and cached images and files, or using a different browser.

If you chose Manage All, you will then be asked to choose the domain for your new email. Choose the domain and press Continue.

Complete the form to create the new email account.

Step 4: Be sure there is at least one administrator. Click on Create.

It may take some time to set up your email. Please wait for a confirmation email from GoDaddy to continue.

What Will Happen If I Dont Keep My Domain Name Registration Active

If you dont keep your domain name registration active with your domain registrar, youll lose ownership of your domain name. If that happens, the registrar might sell your domain name to another buyer. If you lose ownership, you wont be able to use any of the personalized email addresses associated with your domain name, even if your Outlook.com Premium subscription remains active.

Warning: You wont be able to send or receive any email using the email addresses associated with your domain name if your domain name registration becomes inactive. If your domain registrar sells your domain name to another buyer, the new owner can legally access email sent to any of the email addresses associated with your former domain name and redirect email to their own servers.

Receive Emails From Your Current Address In Outlookcom

Now that you have a Microsoft Account with an @outlook.com address, you can configure a forwarder for your current address to your @outlook.com address.

The benefit of using a forwarder is that your mails will arrive almost instantly in your Outlook.com account instead, even when Outlook itself is closed.

However, this requires proper forwarding support by your current ISP but nowadays most ISPs provide support for this. If your ISP doesnt offer forwarding capabilities, dont worry, we can take care of that in Step 4.

Alternative : Connected Accounts

When you have an email address that belongs to a mailbox hosted by another provider , you can configure that as a Connected Account so you will be able to send and receive emails for that address via your Outlook.com mailbox.

For most accounts, Outlook.com will automatically find the required IMAP/POP3 and SMTP server settings so it can be set up quite quickly.

Connected accounts are checked for new emails at least once per hour but the first sync could take a little bit longer to be processed.

Depending on your version of Outlook, youll get one of the dialogs below.

When you get this screen, fill out your email address and press the Connect button. When youve already stored your credentials for this account in Windows, the account will be added directly. If not, youll get prompted for your password. When you have Two-Step Verification enabled for your Outlook.com or Microsoft Account, then youll also be prompted for additional confirmation such as by entering a code obtained via an SMS text message or the Authenticator app.

When you get the dialog shown above, fill out your name, email address and password. When you have Two-Step Verification enabled for your Outlook.com or Microsoft Account, then youll have to use a special App Password instead of your regular password.
