Select the app in the Azure portal

  • Search for and select App Services.

  • On the App Services page, select the name of your Azure app.

  • In the left pane of your app page, select Custom domains.

  • Copy the ID in the Custom Domain Verification ID box in the Custom Domains page for the next step.

    Warning

For custom domains you previously configured without this verification ID, you should protect them from the same risk by adding the verification ID to your DNS record. For more information on this common high-severity threat, see Subdomain takeover.

  • To map an A record, you need the app’s external IP address. In the Custom domains page, copy the value of IP address.

Wix will allow you the ability to both, transfer and connect your domain name to your Wix premium plan. When you connect your domain name, this means that it remains at GoDaddy but it will point to your Wix site. Transferring your domain name from GoDaddy to Wix means to moving it from the former to the latter after doing so, Wix will be hosting your domain name. The end result is similar anyone who types your domain name will see your Wix site.

Optional: Configure Cname Record For Www

We recommend you also set a CNAME record in your zone file to allow use of the www prefix. A CNAME points a subdomain to another domain name.

For example, with a CNAME in place, visitors entering www.thisfinedomain.com in their browser will be re-routed to thisfinedomain.com. Without a CNAME record, visitors will instead reach an error page.

Step 1: Click Add under the Records table.

Step 2: Under Type, select CNAME.

Step 3: Enter www under Host.

Step 4: Enter under Points to.

Step 5: Click Save to apply the changes.

How To Point Godaddy Domain To Cloudways Hosting

Generally if you have used cPanel based shared hosting so far, you will find this process completely different. But trust me, the process is very simple indeed. Just try to follow these steps carefully, if possible use Cloudwaya Promo Code to get 3 days trial account to do all experiment first before changing your actual domain.

Anyway, lets start the process of connecting your GoDaddy domain with Cloudways account. This domain is with Godaddy only.

Step 1. First of all login to Cloudways account and go to your application area. I have considered that you have already created a server & then also created your first application as well.

Step 2: Next click on the application and check the below screen carefully. In the below image right side you will find the IP address, we need this address to connect the domain with Cloudways. After that we also need to go to Domain Management from the left side menu option, later on.

Step 3: Now login to your GoDaddy account and visit the DNS area of your domain name. In case your domain has DNS of any other hosting, you will not be able to edit the DNS records.

E.g. my domain was initially with SiteGround, so I found a screen like below. You need to edit the DNS records and choose the first option, GoDaddy DNS.

Then you will be able to see a screen like below. In case it is not coming, just refresh the screen few times. Now here we need to do some changes in next step.

    • TTL: Leave it as it was

    Apply The New Nameservers Values

The next step of pointing a domain name to a new host is to replace the domains old nameservers. Heres how to do it:

  • Login to your domain registrar. Remember, this is the place where you bought your domain.
  • Look for the option to set your domains nameservers. Every registrar has a different way of doing this. However, in general, you can find the appropriate settings on the menu called Domain Management, or Domain Overview, or something along those lines.
  • In hPanel, go to Domains -> -> DNS / Nameservers. Expand Change Nameservers and select the Change nameservers option. You should see several fields, such as Nameserver 1 , Nameserver 2 , that will most likely be filled with Hostingers default nameservers.
  • Enter the nameservers into the appropriate fields. For example, a nameserver that begins with ns1 should be put into the Nameserver 1 field, if it starts with ns2 to Nameserver 2, and so on.
  • Pro Tip

If you see the Create child nameservers field, you can ignore it.

Keep these tips in mind should there be any difference between the number of nameservers and the number of available fields:

    • If your hosting provider only gives you two nameservers, but your registrar provides you with four or more fields, enter the first two, leaving the other ones empty.
    • If your hosting provider gives you three nameservers, but your registrar only allows you to enter two, use the first two nameservers.

Google manages the services provided by your domain through Google services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive, such as sending and receiving emails, managing events, and keeping your files organized. Outside of Google, a domain hosting service hosts the domain. Google Domains does not provide any type of hosting, so you will need to purchase it separately. Whats The Difference Between Domain Forwarding And Masking

When you forward your GoDaddy domain, you can choose to Forward only or Forward with masking.

So whats masking? When you choose the Forward with masking option, you hide the destination domain from online visitors. They only see the domain they type into their browser bar.

Lets say youre using a free version of a website builder that places weebly or godaddysites in your domain name and you want to use your own personal domain. You can forward visitors who type your personal domain name into their browser to your free website, but mask that process so the browser continues displaying your personal domain name vs. the free one.

Usually, you should forward without masking because search engines like Google dont like it when you try to fool your visitors. Moreover, your website content appears to live on both your personal domain and the domain where it actually resides. Google views this duplicate content as a negative in terms of how it ranks your site.
