I soon after turned to WordPress and never looked back. This is not an insult to Wix, I enjoyed my experience with the platform. However, I gained more skills in operating WordPress as the primary CMS for both myself and my clients. Connecting A Domain Name To Wix

If you would prefer to keep your domain name with your current host , you can still connect it to your Wix site. For that, a couple of changes in the domain name parameters are required. Check this Wix tutorial for more information.

There are two options: connecting the domain name via name servers or pointing your domain name to a Wix site:

Usually, its option 1. Especially if you are not using any email inbox with your domain name yet, its better to connect your name servers with Wix .

If you are already using an external email provider, pointing your domain name to Wix may be more convenient as your email accounts will just continue working without any further changes from your side. The only small disadvantage here: should Wix ever move your website to a new server, you may have to get your A-record updated. Not a biggie, but better if it all happens in the background without your involvement.

To renew your domain name, go to the My Domains page. If you have more than one domain in your account, select the relevant domain. There, you can choose the number of additional years that you wish to extend your domain name registration for, enter your payment details and click Submit Purchase.

1. Login to cPanel from your HostPapa Dashboard> > My cPanel section.

2. Access Zone Editor feature.

Check for an existing mail.yourdomain.com CNAME record. If it exists, edit it to an A Record pointed to Shared IP Address copied earlier.

If the CNAME record doesnt exist, create a new A Record with the same details.

Edit existing MX Record and point it to mail.yourdomain.com which we created in previous step.

Verify Your Domain Connection

Return to the page that you left open after adding your domain on Wix and click on the Verify Connection button.

If youve accidentally closed the page or lost your connection, dont worry. You can skip this step and simply do a DNS lookup.

Allow up to 24 hours for the records to completely propagate across the network and youre all done. However, if your emails are hosted with Vodien, proceed with step 4.

Click on your account name on the top right hand corner and head to Account Settings.
