When the CNAME or A-type records have been approved, the process of enabling SSL will automatically begin. You can find the status of your SSL in the SSL column. The process of fully enabling the SSL certificate may take a few hours.

Note: If the SSL has not been enabled after several hours and it is stuck with Enabling SSL, check if the DNS page of your domain has an AAAA type record. This type of record pointing to another server will prevent the SSL from being enabled, so it must be removed.

Connecting Your Own Domain To Wix

Connecting your own domain to your WIX website is easy. When you first upgrade your site to premium, it gives you an option between finding the right domain or connecting your own. Click on Connect My Own Domain. This will start the process for connecting your own name.

To add a domain name to your WIX site, the next step is to find your own domain. It will then confirm with you where your domain has come from. Examples would be the likes of GoDaddy, NameCheap and HostGator to name just a few. Confirm that WIX is correct.

WIX will then give you a similar guide on how to connect your domain name.

You will need to go to your domain name settings from your domain name provider. Sign into your account from the likes of GoDaddy and head to the settings of the correct domain. You will see a button labelled DNS.

Once in the DNS settings of the domain, scroll down to the section labelled Nameservers. You will see a field with labelled default. Change the field to custom. You will see you need to add two custom nameservers. To find the correct nameservers, head back over to your WIX site.

In your WIX site, you will find two custom nameservers. Example above. Copy and paste these two nameservers individually into the custom nameservers settings. Once done, click save and then verify the connection using WIX.

    Upload Index And Website Content

    SITE123

In this step, you upload your index document and optional website content to your root domain bucket.

When you enable static website hosting for your bucket, you enter the name of the index document . After you enable static website hosting for the bucket, you upload an HTML file with this index document name to your bucket.

    To configure the index document

  • Create an index.html file.

If you don’t have an index.html file, you can use the following HTML to create one:

    < html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > < head> < title> My Website Home Page< /title> < /head> < body> < h1> Welcome to my website< /h1> < p> Now hosted on Amazon S3!< /p> < /body> < /html>
  • Save the index file locally.

The index document file name must exactly match the index document name that you enter in the Static website hosting dialog box. The index document name is case sensitive. For example, if you enterindex.html for the Index document name in the Static website hosting dialog box, your index document file name must also be index.html and not Index.html.

  • Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon S3 console at.

  • In the Buckets list, choose the name of the bucket that you want to use to host a static website.

  • Enable static website hosting for your bucket, and enter the exact name of your index document . For more information, see Enabling website hosting.

After enabling static website hosting, proceed to step 6.

    Verify Your New Domain

Next, youll need to verify ownership of your domain in order to use Kinstas free Cloudflare integration. To verify a new domain, youll need to add two TXT records to your domains DNS. If youre using Kinsta DNS, the TXT records for domain verification will be automatically added for you, so you can skip down to Step 3 Point Your Domain to Kinsta.

If youre using another DNS provider, you can refer to the articles below or your providers documentation for more information on how to add DNS records.

    TXT Record 1

    • Value: Unique UUID value from MyKinsta

    TXT Record 2

Log into your DNS providers management panel and add a new TXT record.

For the first TXT record, use _cf-custom-hostname for the Hostname field and your unique UUID value for the Content/Text field. After youve added the TXT record details, save your new TXT record.

For the second TXT record, use @ in the Hostname field or leave it blank , and use your unique UUID value for the Content/Text field. After youve added the TXT record details, save your new TXT record.

To enable server access logging for your root domain bucket

  • Open the Amazon S3 console at.

  • In the same Region where you created the bucket that is configured as a static website, create a bucket for logging, for example logs.example.com.

  • Create a folder for the server access logging log files .

  • If you want to use CloudFront to improve your website performance, create a folder for the CloudFront log files .

    Important

When you create or update a distribution and enable CloudFront logging, CloudFront updates the bucket access control list to give the awslogsdelivery accountFULL_CONTROL permissions to write logs to your bucket. For more information, see Permissions required to configure standard logging and to access your log files in the Amazon CloudFront Developer Guide. If the bucket that stores the logs uses the bucket owner enforced setting for S3 Object Ownership to disable ACLs, CloudFront cannot write logs to the bucket. For more information, see Controlling ownership of objects and disabling ACLs for your bucket.

  • In the Buckets list, choose your root domain bucket.

  • Choose Properties.

  • Under Server access logging, choose Edit.

  • Choose Enable.
